2018 Methlick Cycle Challenge- Entry Open
Entry is open for the 2018 Methlick Cycle Challenge. Date: 15th July 2018
This year is going to be a bit different. We have changed the routes to start & finish in Methlick. This should make things a little easier for everyone logistically. There will be a large dedicated car park opened up for us next to the start at Beaton Hall, Methlick.
All three routes (67 mile, 40 mile & 20 mile) will start and finish here. The start times will be staggered for each route with the intention that most people should finish around the same time no matter which route you are doing and enjoy the BBQ together.
The routes will be on an assortment of surfaces including forest tracks, roads and the Formartine Way. Bikes suitable for all surfaces will be required.
The roads around Methlick have there fair share of hills, so expect a challenge! But what goes up, must come down :-)
We will have the legendary after event BBQ and beer tent again which is a really good way to wind down and rest the legs. This year it will be next to the Methlick Cricket Club's pitch. Thanks to Jay at the Ythanview Hotel for supplying burgers again, not sure where he gets them from but they are damn fine, the Ythanview Hotel will be open as usual for a large range of drinks, real ales and food.
We will have Velo Biketec attending our event area on the day for last minute mechanical tweaks, purchase of those all important spares (tubes, gels, etc) just in case you forget anything. Velo Biketec are a new local business servicing and repairing all types of bikes either with their mobile workshop or can pick up and return your bike. They also supply a range of bikes, parts and spares. Visit www.velobiketec.co.uk
If you want a fun day out on your bike with a load of like minded cyclists covering some stunning countryside then enter now before we reach our maximum entries.
